FAQ
1. What type of miso should I use?
White miso, also known as shiro miso, is recommended for its mild, slightly sweet and savoury flavour. It pairs well with the butter and cheese.
2. Can I adjust the amount of miso?
Yes. Reduce the amount of miso for a milder flavour or add more for a stronger savoury, umami taste. Keep in mind that miso is naturally salty.
3. Why is my miso butter mixture too thick?
Allow the melted butter to cool slightly before mixing, then stir thoroughly. If needed, add a little more melted butter to make the mixture easier to brush onto the tater tots.
4. Is this dish suitable as a party snack?
Yes. Serve the tater tots on a large sharing plate and add extra furikake and roasted seaweed just before serving for a fun, Japanese-inspired appetiser.
