FAQ
1. Is La Zi Chicken very spicy?
La Zi Chicken is traditionally a spicy dish, but you can easily adjust the heat by reducing the amount of dried chillies and chilli flakes.
2. Can I make La Zi Chicken less spicy?
Yes. Reduce the amount of dried chillies and chilli flakes. You can also remove the seeds from the dried chillies to reduce some of the heat.
3. How do I make the chicken more flavourful?
Allow the chicken to be well coated with the chilli, garlic, shallot and spring onion mixture. Adding the chicken while the aromatics are still fragrant helps the flavours cling to the crispy coating.
4. Should I remove the seeds from the dried chillies?
You can remove the seeds if you prefer less heat. Keeping the seeds will give the dish a stronger spicy kick.
